NEW MULTI-CULTURAL RECORDING MAKES GOSPEL MUSIC HISTORY
|
(Nashville,
TN) - The new CD project
Bishop David G. Evans Presents Automatic Praise Live has
become the first CD in gospel music history to have three songs
playing on four different radio chart genres: urban gospel,
Inspirational, country and Southern Gospel. Recorded live at Evans'
church, Bethany Baptist Church in New Jersey, the CD was fashioned
to be a multi-cultural offering, according to Evans.
"Everything that God gives us is meant to unite us, not divide us,"
says Evans. "We selected a diverse group of musicians, writers and
singers to make this a project that unifies the church. The concept
of 'Automatic Praise' comes from a sermon series I did where I
talked about how worship is about relationship and praise is the
articulation of that relationship. When we have a deeper
relationship with God, our praise should become an automatic
response to our love for Him."
Currently, the CD boasts three separate radio singles including "Let
Go," playing on over 400 urban gospel stations; "Make A Joyful
Noise" featuring Sam Towns, a worship leader from Australia, is
playing on Inspirational radio stations; and "Tribute to America (In
God We Still Trust)" is being promoted to both country and southern
gospel radio stations and features the trio Nash3 made up of Bill
and Kim Nash and their son Jimmy. The Nash family has written hit
songs for Eddy Arnold, Reba McEntire, and Diamond Rio, and were
named Duo of the Year by American Country Radio in the early 90s.
"Tribute to America (In God We Still Trust)" is a timely message to
the church, according to Evans. "The resiliency of our nation in
difficult times and our ultimate belief in the power of God will
bring us back to the glory and integrity God intended. In our
difficult times, we should still trust God."
n
addition to serving as pastor to the 27,000-member Bethany Baptist
Church, Bishop Evans is a best-selling author and community
activist. He is chairman of Generations, Inc., a non-profit
community development corporation. Building projects currently in
progress include Harvest Senior Housing, Harvest Recreation Center
and Next Generation Medical Center. With a goal of economic
empowerment of church members, Evans' church has instituted one of
the largest faith-based mortgage lending institutions in the
country, licensed in all 50 states. Evans also produces
The Power of Revelation
television program and OnPointe,
a live call-in radio talk show on WFIL Radio.
"This CD features country, traditional gospel, contemporary gospel,
even Hillsong-style music, showcasing so many levels of ministry,"
Evans concludes. "When we first began putting this project together,
I was told by my peers that putting so many different kinds of music
on it was not going to work, but I believe God is seeking to bring
the Church together right now and I pray this CD helps in that
process."
Bishop David G.
Evans Presents Automatic Praise Live is the sophomore project
from Evans who released the
Healed Without
Scars recording in 2006 to coincide with his best-selling
